Who is she?

Whether it’s her piano-led alt-folk or full-bodied, guitar-driven pop-rock, all of Alanna Matty’s music is united by her captivating vocals and unmistakably personal approach to songwriting.

A natural storyteller with a magnetic live presence, Alanna brings the same honesty and personality to the stage as she does to her songwriting. Her performances balance emotionally charged musical moments with sharp, tongue-in-cheek humour and candid audience interaction, creating an experience that feels as much like connecting with an old friend as attending a concert.

Having previously toured throughout Canada and the United States, Alanna recently completed her first UK tour, with standout appearances at FOCUS Wales (including a feature on the BBC). This year also saw her showcasing at NXNE in Toronto and Loud Women Fest in Halifax, in addition to a few headlining shows in both cities. A fiercely independent artist, Alanna has built an international fanbase through Twitch, where her live music streams have helped establish a sustainable, full-time independent music career with fans willing to travel hundreds of kms to see her play in person.

Her self-produced 2024 album “Subject to Change” was nominated for Pop Album of the Year at the Music Nova Scotia Awards and its companion album, “Epilogue”, which released in August of this year, has already surpassed 250,000 Spotify streams and counting. Alanna is currently seeking touring and festival opportunities throughout 2027 to further expand the album's reach and connect with new audiences.
